Projector screen FAQs
Can I use a long-throw ALR screen with a UST projector?
No. UST projectors hit the screen at a very steep angle, so they need a UST-specific ALR or Fresnel surface. A standard long-throw ALR screen will look washed out or uneven with a UST projector.
What is a Fresnel screen?
A Fresnel screen uses a fine ridged optical layer that directs the projector's light toward the viewer and rejects light from other directions, giving strong contrast in bright rooms.
Floor-rising or ceiling screen — which is better?
Floor-rising motorised screens rise from a cabinet in front of a UST projector and need no wall or ceiling work. Recessed in-ceiling screens hide completely when not in use but require ceiling space. Read our guide to the best ALR screens for UST projectors.
